The Labyrinth

Walking the labyrinth is a mystical path – helping us redirect and ignite new energies for living full, creative lives with open hearts.

In Western Christianity, the mystical path is traditionally called the Threefold Path. The three stages that define the process of an ever-deepening sense of union with the Divine are embedded in the labyrinth design:

  1. The path to the center is the Path of Purgation (the path of shedding or letting go).

  2. The center is the Path of Illumination (the path of Light or Presence of the Divine).

  3. The path returning from the center is the Path of Union (the path of bringing the inner presence of God into the world).

The 3-fold path speaks to the cyclical nature of our existence. The labyrinth has long been an important tool for those seeking wisdom both inside and outside of world faith traditions. Walking the labyrinth can be a meditative experience drawing the walker into a deeper, more grounded heart space where one may experience spiritual healing, increased self-knowledge, and inner peace. Using the labyrinth ceremonially is a way to honor our life transitions.

We offer our indoor labyrinth to the community for individuals and groups to come and walk. In addition, we have a canvas labyrinth that is available for groups and organizations to use at retreats and special events.

WHEN TO WALK THE LABYRINTH

Sunday mornings from 8 am to 12:30pm
Occasionally a special parish meeting or gathering  may interfere with walking  the labyrinth – check our Events page for that information.

At 9am on the last Saturday of each month, we host a group walk, followed by an optional hour of reflection and sharing to deepen our spiritual practice.
